Anti Aging Treatment Archives
I mean it is 2010, not 1950. The Millennial generation is now starting to turn 30. We are not like Gen X. I see people all the time who are over 30 that look 18-25, and a lot of people think I look much younger than my actual age(29). I still get asked if I am attending school by people I meet. People are living much longer these days(the average lifespan is now 80, up from around 68 in 1960) and we have more anti-aging treatments. So why is there still this medeival idea that 30 is old?? Again, this isn’t 1310, it is 2010. I mean look at this: http://www.ehow.com/how_4684098_deal-tur… He makes it sound like turning 30 is like turning 65. Heck, why don’t I pre-order one of those power chairs while I am at it?? Of course that guy is like 40, but still. Heck, the TV shows I remember from my youth were Seinfeld and Friends, not I Love Lucy and Gunsmoke. But what are your thoughts?? The baby boomers revolutionized retirement age from playing chess at the local senior center to skydiving and taking exotic trips around the world. We millennials need to revolutionize 30.
Oh and 35 is when a woman can stop reproducing but science has been changing that. Lot more women over 40 are having kids these days. Again, get out of the middle ages!
We are aging since the day we are born. You must be a person of the previous generation.
I know I will probably get old and gray someday, but I don’t want it to be at freaking 30! At least after 40.
I’m a 15 year old girl, and something tells me I should be doing what everyone else is doing, hanging out with friends and going out with boys. I’m at an all girls’ school, so maybe I’m a little hindered in the boy aspect, but it hasn’t stopped many others. Two of my closest friends are on anti-depressants, and I’ve had to support both of them through pretty naff times in the past year, whilst everyone else was socialising and networking.
It’s gotten to the point where I always get anxious being in the town centre where everyone else my age stands and talks. It doesn’t seem that interesting, but then why do so many people do it? I get really nervous, chewing my lip, inside of my cheeks, cracking my knuckles, pressing the tips of my fingers and fidgeting like a little freak. I can’t bring myself to walk slowly past all these people, and some have commented on how I always have my head down.
I’d like some confidence, but how do I "come out" if I can’t leave my friends behind?
I’d hope for some actual answers from believers here…
How would you react in the event of the success of recent anti-aging drug research?
Would drugs or treatment resulting in, say, a 120-yr old man who lifts weights at the gym three times a week upset you or make you happy?
Would this be a happy accomplishment of the discipline of medicine, or a sinful intrusion into the affairs of God?
Would you respond negatively the way many of you respond to abortion clinics or genetics labs, as embodiments of evil, or would you think of it as just a sort of powered-up version of blood pressure medicine?
Is it sinful in your interpretation of "God’s will" to seek longer life?
.
ANYBODY give me a straight answer? Anyone?
Please? I’m not interested in trading insults with anyone.
For those who are interested, I am strongly in favor of such things but I have given a thumbs up to everyone who gave a straight answer regardless of whether I agree with them or not.
I really admire women who are over forty and still look good: granted, they were always pretty to begin with but they have great, smooth skin with little wrinkles, their bodies are in shape, and they usually wear flattering make-up and classy yet stylish clothes, and their hair is nice. Can anyone give me tips on how to maintain myself or any things I can do now (I’m 19) to make sure I age well? Like, moisturizing creams, etc… please advice!
Thanks : )
I am 28 and recently, seems like over night, literally, my hands are looking far older than I am. Id go as far as saying they look like they belong to a 60 or 70 year old. Coincidently it happened when I started using this anti aging product on my hands. I have read about home made chemical hand peels and how to make them. If you have experience with them or with spa microdermbrasion treatments, I would be very interested with your results especially since its not exactly in the budget but I will if need be. Any other info on seriously aged hands and reversing the problem will be so appreciated.
I never smoked
I do drink often,though
For years, I’ve been thinking about a major career move. I have this idea of becoming an anti-aging specialist. I’ve discovered three different schools and or courses that would help me achieve this goal.
I would have to become a qualified personal trainer from the National Academy of Sports Medicine, go to school for aesthetics (figured Skin Science in Utah might be the best choice) and receive a certification from the American College of Anti-Aging Sports Medicine.
With all of these combined, I’d plan to open my own practice. Rather unique, because I actually have a passion for health, fitness, skincare etc. One Problem!
How do women feel about having a male aesthetician? No waxing or make-up, although that’s in the curriculum, but I’d be more concerned with doing facial services, skin evaluations and various other spa treatments, along with doing personal training sessions, and teaching fitness classes.
The idea is to help others maintain and preserve their natural beauty without drugs or medical procedures.
In my mind, this could be really exciting, and an extremely lucrative business. I just want to know what the women think, considering spa and wellness is a female dominated industry.
Be honest.
My husband is 23yrs and has been type 1 diabetic since the age of 7yrs. Normally his health has been relatively good, but with his recent diabetic review has been told he has exceptionally high cholesterol. He was previously a vegetarian, but the doctor believes his change in diet over one year has nothing to do with the sudden rise, and puts it down to stress at work. This is also stopping the production of creatine, essential for muscle development and maintenance. He is fit and exercises by running on average 10 miles a day (to and from work) and eats home grown veg and lean meats etc. What are we doing wrong I wonder? Stress really can kill! Does anyone have any advice on what more we can do to drop his cholesterol in a healthy manner? At the moment, we cannot reduce his stress at work, but maybe someone has good advice for anti stress tips at home or particular foods and exercises specifically designed to lower cholesterol? He also has a heart murmur, so we are even more keen on lowering the cholesterol levels. Most grateful to any help. Thank you.
From a wife that wants her husband to stick around.
My boyfriend of almost 20 years of age has the weirdest symptoms happening to him at once…I don’t know what he could be suffering from. He had an infected lymph node and received treatment for it with anti-biotics. The next day he noticed pimples starting to form all over his body. I told him it was an allergic reaction, but he says that he started to break out before he started taking his anti-biotics. What sickness could he have?
Quite a few of you have written asking about the rather prominent
ads for the product TNS Recovery Complex (9 for 0.6 oz). Increasing number
of topical products hitting the market claiming they can diminish or reduce wrinkles without "painful injections," I certainly understand the
curiosity.
I wrote about TNS Recovery Complex (SkinMedica) in a previous newsletter, when a reader asked about its ability to diminish the visible signs of aging, such as wrinkles, fine lines and uneven skin texture. SkinMedica claims that NouriCel is derived from Advanced Tissue Sciences’ patented process for growing bioengineered human tissue for treating serious burns and wounds, and help diminish wrinkles. That was SkinMedica’s
original marketing claim to fame, though the fame was all self-promoted,
as there is not a single independent, peer-reviewed study to prove that
TNS Recovery Complex is an effective option for repairing and diminishing fine lines and wrinkles. The studies that do exist about TNS products with (Nouricel) for treatment and diminishing wrinkles were paid for by SkinMedica, the company that distributes TNS products.
According to the company’s latest ads, they were surprised to find that
not only was TNS Recovery Complex healing wounds and burns, but
also that somehow their facial lines and wrinkles were going away, too. For that
reason, we now have the astounding "anti-wrinkle breakthrough of the
decade." Regrettably, no supportive research needs to be available to sell
this kind of hyperbole. All it takes is to promise women that a product
will get rid of their wrinkles and they will buy it in droves, no
matter how many other product lines, infomercials, advertisements, or
cosmetics salespeople pledge the exact same thing.
SkinMedica’s ad continues with " rebel, rebuild, and reborn” via The active formula Nouricel. Nouricel recently been shown in clinical trials to significantly reduce fine lines and facial wrinkles without irritation, painful injections, or surgery." One more flourish is the statement that "in fact, [TNS Recovery Complex and TNS Family Products] are the only topical formulation clinically proven to effectively confront every aspect of wrinkle reduction." It is easy to debunk all of this overblown nonsense by pointing out the product’s lack of sunscreen; perhaps SkinMedica overlooked the research about sun exposure’s deleterious, wrinkling, and
discoloring effects on skin.
SkinMedica has parlayed these claims into what appears to be little
more than an effort to spin off the popularity of wrinkle reduction skin care, wrinkle reduction concerns as well as recent use of Botox to its own
benefit. "The compounds in NouriCel-MD have been shown to aid in the healing of burns and wounds, so it’s no surprise that they rejuvenate aging and sun-damaged skin," said Richard Fitzpatrick, MD, founder and chairman of SkinMedica. "The addition of TNS Recovery Complex with NouriCel-MD to our product line will enable us to satisfy growing patient demand for a natural, non-invasive and proven anti-aging product." It is funny how the founder of SkinMedica can claim this and yet there is no other physician or scientist to claim this via actual research. TNS Recovery Complex is supposedly preferred because its long-term results
versus the short-term results (and repeated treatments) of Botox. Apparently, SkinMedica has conducted a research with over 200 people and the results were due in late 2002. For some reason, they do not have the result of the study yet. I wonder why?
Please note that in order for a growth factor or any hormone therapy, special ingredients like Nouricel-MD to work, it needs to reach the cellular level. There’s absolutely no scientific evidence that collagen, elastin, or hyaluronic acid – the three main components of your dermis – can penetrate the epidermis (top layer of the skin which is dead skin). Even "nanotechnology" has not been proven to be able to get these substances into the skin.
The molecules are simply too large. (Quick science lesson: The epidermis is your topmost layer of skin. The dermis, the next layer of skin, is where wrinkle-causing changes take place.) Be wary of creams and lotions that claim to topically replace, repair or produce collagen, elastin, or hyaluronic acid.
Growth factors applied to the epidermis (top layer of the skin which is dead tissue) will not rejuvenate, replenish or produce more cells. SkinMedica Claims that “NouriCel-MD contains multiple human growth factors including vascular endothelial growth factor (VEG-F) and transforming growth factor beta (TGF-beta), as well as natural antioxidants, soluble collagens and matrix proteins. Together, these compounds have demonstrated the ability to help reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines, while also helping to increase skin elasticity and texture in as little as 45 days”.
If you were to ask how would any of the growth factors mentioned above penetrate the epidermis to actually stimulate collagen formation for wrinkle prevention and reduction, not one scientist will back SkinMedica in this theory. Not one ingredient mentioned above would even penetrate the skin to stimulate a cell for production of collagen.
So is TNS Recovery Complex better than any other over the counter skin care prodcut? The short answer is no–and that
means no way, and nohow. It isn’t even better than the daily use of an
effective sunscreen! TNS Recovery Complex is merely a moisturizer. Botox prevents the use of facial muscles, and that instantaneously smoothes out the skin.
TNS Recovery Complex won’t alter the wrinkling on any part of your face, not in
the long term, and not in the short term.
There is no published research substantiating the results, and SkinMedica declined to send us any documentation at this time.

Chapter One CHANGE
“We’re here Miss,” the taxi driver announced as the taxi screeched to a halt. I really didn’t want to leave the warm interior of the car but I handed over the tip and thanked the driver. Georgina my sister pulled the collars of her leather jacket closer and got out. I followed and strolled over to the boot of the car. I heard the ‘thump,’ as the taxi driver opened the boot. “It’s nice and warm in there ain’t it Sir? Wouldn’t mind giving us a hand?” Georgina muttered as she raised the boot and grabbed the suitcases. As we unloaded the suitcases and set them on the footpath, we slammed down the boot and the taxi screeched off. Georgina and I stood there taking in our surroundings. This was our new neighbourhood and directly in front of us was our new home. “Ready?” Georgina asked me. I nodded but didn’t speak. We dragged our suitcases to the gate. Georgina kicked it with her boot and it swung open. We trailed to the front door and knocked. The front of the house was neat and tidy; roses were neatly trimmed and planted in front of the windows. The curtains were shut; I assume noone would want any rain streaming through them anyway. The weather was what ruined this whole ‘homely reunion,’ the clouds were grey and not a sign of sky blue showed. It didn’t look like it was about to ease up soon. Georgina knocked again just as lighting flashed and thunder followed. I jumped under the shade and Georgina rolled her eyes. “Audrina, puh-lease. It’s just thunder.” I knocked on the front door hardly this time. It opened and my dad’s kind, friendly face peeped out. “Hi Dad,” Georgina chirruped and she smiled as she dragged her suitcases, swung the door open wide and walked in. So typical Georgina. So straight and forward. “Hello Dad, nice to see you again-” I stepped in and stopped mid sentence. Dad didn’t look like the dad he was the last four years I’d seen him. He looked…younger and weirdly good looking for a guy in his forties. I stared at him, (very rude I know,) open mouthed and gawking. Georgina I could see was gawking too and blinking profusely. “Dad,” I said finding my voice. “You look…different.” Georgina nodded her head and cleared her throat. “Very different.” She agreed. Dad smiled but stuttered a bit. I could sense he was nervous. I bet he should be, what father looks more beautiful than his teenage daughter? He had not a wrinkle in his face. “Then my anti-age creams are working.” A voice said from the hallway door leading to the supposedly kitchen. My stepmother Deidre had her arms crossed in front of her chest in a friendly way. She-like my father was beautiful. She had silky brown blonde hair that was curled and accentuated her face features. She had crinkly hazel eyes; I gazed into them steadily looking for any sort of malice in them. No, not a sign. “A-anti-creams?” Georgina stuttered. Dad smiled stiffly (from my point of view) and distracted himself with the carrying of our suitcases. “Welcome ladies.” Deidre smiled warmly as she took an overnight bag from my arms and walked through the hallway door. Georgina nervously followed dragging her suitcase and trying not to rattle on the hallway tiles. I followed, carrying my case and entered the dining room. “Sorry girls, we were just loading up on the groceries.” Deidre smiled an apologetic smile. The dining table was packed with grocery bags and juice bottles. The kitchen bench had several coke bottles and other beverages. It was as if they’d bought the whole supermarket. “It looks like you haven’t been using the kitchen before,” Georgina said, her voice a bit muffled. I glanced her way and saw her head in the fridge. “Georgina,” I hissed. She was just so rude and interfering. “Uh, well the fridge is new.” Deidre smiled nervously as she packed away the food packages. Georgina shut the fridge door and looked around. I imitated her. Shockingly the kitchen appliances looked very brand new. It was as if they had bought them yesterday. The fridge door was gleaming and reflecting Georgina through it. The microwave was demanding its own audience. “So,” my father returned from upstairs. “How you liking LeecheTown so far?” he asked as he headed over to Deidre to help her unload. Georgina scoffed. “So is this what this town’s called? I saw the sign, thought it was some joke.” Georgina scoffed yet again as she pulled down a dining chair and sat down. I gave her a look and started unloading the groceries out of the plastic bags myself. “No actually, I’m afraid our town is LeecheTown,” Dad chuckled and Diedre smiled. “You

This is a high end product not in all retail stores. We sell anti age skin care and treatment and we cater to a more affluent clientelle. I need a ‘gimmck’ of sorts to attract business and I though Mother’s Day with a lure for women to come on over to the counter knowing we are doing something special for the mother/woman. Ant ideas?

I turned 26 in January and have notice some irritating under eye wrinkles- which of the 2 above products would be a BETTER product for that?

I’m 22 years old and getting braces. An adult with braces? Yuck, I know. Anyway, because of my age and my job (I meet with tons of people world-wide daily), I have opted to get clear braces instead of the silver metal ones for my appearance’s sake. I already look way young for someone my age (about 16 or 17) and getting traditional braces would be grounds for people in corporate America to pretty much think they could push me around because I’m "so young". The problem is that, like pretty much every other early-bird, I have to drink at least one caffeinated beverage every morning in order to function. The problem? Coffee, tea, dark sodas, etc, will all stain the clear bands on my braces. I’m looking for an alternative to dark drinks, maybe something like caffeine pills. Has anyone ever tried caffeine pills? If so, what were the results? Do they actually work? Also, what are some alternatives to dark caffeinated beverages, excluding white & green tea? I tried energy drinks and don’t like the way they taste and how I crash around 3pm because the “energy” dies off. Any suggestions/tips/advice are greatly appreciated!

I am wondering what the risks of taking anti-depressants (at the age of 17, weight 180, height 6′2 – 6′3) are. I was also wondering if certain types of "depression" aren’t under the category of taking anti-depressants, such as depression caused by severe emotions (break-up, relationships) and an over-loaded schedule of things to do (school, work, extracurriculars).
If that information is hard to obtain, then what are some pros and cons of taking anti-depressants, specifically at the age 17 and generally at any age. Also, if on anti-depressants, how long does treatment typically last (what is the process)?
Jamel, your answer has nothing to do with my question sorry. I’m not concerned about weight-loss strategies..
Ok, i’m turning 15 july 20th. And I’m about 5′5 I recently checked my weight today and seen that I weighed 118-120 pounds. I personally think that i’m not fat, or chubby, I just have a little bit of baby fat along the belly, and it drives me insane!
I have a ddr (dance dance revolution) and I play once every other day maybe for around an hour, taking occassional breaks. I’m really good at it, 1/2 and 1/2 difficult and expert, and maybe 1 or 2 challenge songs.
I also go skating at this skating place called Dixy just about every friday with my friends from 7-11. And I skate just about the whole time i’m there.
My schedual usually goes like this for school days:
Wake up around 5-5:30am and get up and get dressed, brush my teeth, the usual. And sometimes I eat breakfast. only if i’m not rushing to get out of the door. I usually have some waffles, 2 or 3 with a glass of milk usually. Some other times I eat a bowl of cerial. And when i’m rushing I sometimes take a granola bar or a rice krispy treat out the door so I won’t be as hungry at school.
I leave the house around 6:50 to catch my bus that picks us up about 3 blocks from my house. Then I go to school.
I don’t have any gym classes this last trimester. So I’m not as active in school except for the walking to classes and going up and down the stairs to get to my next class.
Then school gets out and I walk to my bus. Then I walk home from the bus stop and do my homework, play ddr, and maybe hang out with friends if I don’t feel like being anti social lol.
On the weekends I usually hang out with my friends and just chill with them all weekend at their place and fridays we go skating as you already know. Sometimes we go saturdays too from 7-10. And we go skating at the last wednesday of every month because it’s free skate, only for 2 hours though which sucks.
Anyways, thats basically it. I know, I’m pretty boring, well, at least I think that lol.
I’m just wondering if you guys think i’m healthy for my age and height…. Also, what are some healthy food choices I could make for meals and snacks so I can keep a steady weight? I really hate doing crunches because I get so damn tired after the 1st 50-60 I do. But I occassionaly do them when I get that little energy burst and i’m really bored.
All I want to do is get a slim waistline and belly, smaller than it is now. I hate my baby fat =( lol.
I have 3 dogs as well, maybe walking them once or twice a week for 10 minutes will do something… not sure but it can’t hurt to try.
So any advice for me? i don’t want to sound like some annerexic chick or whatever, I just want to lose a few pounds. Thanks for the help people!!! =D

My husband has always had pit bulls and no problems. Did you know that poodles and other dogs are just as mean? Anyway, before all the "Anti-Pit Bull" crap, I just want you all to know that no matter what you say, we are bringing him home. That said… We are getting a 1 year old pit bull today. He has grown up since day 1 with a small boy, age 4 (now 5) and is great with kids. The reason they are getting rid of him is b/c they don’t have the time. Pits need a social life, I do know that. But what are some easy things to train him to do to get used to us? We’ve always just owned pits from day 1 also. Oh, he will also be an outside dog w/ a very nice doghouse. Just the right size. We are planning on putting him on a runner to begin with. Should we buy him toys and things? It will be a huge switch for him. What would you suggest?
What I mean by outside is that he will interact with us inside or outside wherever we are (huge dog lovers and so are our kids) and we will just have him sleep outside always unless it’s too hot or cold. That’s always how we’ve had our dogs.
WTF is WRONG with Y!A these days? Do people not even READ the questions anymore?? The only time he will be outside is at night when he is sleeping. Get over the fact. And he’s only going to be on a runner until we can make sure he doesn’t run off. We live in the city and there are TONS of cats that just roam wild.
I am not saying that discrimination isn’t wrong. Far from it. I strongly agree with our anti-discrimination laws and believe that everyone should be treated equal. But there is a flip side to this. I believe that treating everyone equally is defined by both bad treatment and good treatment. How does one particular race, sex, age, or belief render a person more protection, special benefits, or more freedom of speech? How is the recognition of "protected classes" anti-discrimination? My opinion- it isn’t. Giving a person certain freedoms pertaining to speech in the workplace or stronger job protection based on the above characteristics is complete and utter discrimination against a person that does not meet the "protected classes" qualifiers. And no- I haven’t been wronged or hurt or unjustly accused of anything recent or in my past. I am just thinking about the direction that our culture is going. And it seems wrong to me…
My son is 4 and he I don’t know if he is hyperactive or has ADHD? He runs constantly and cannot sit still, even having problems with this in school. His speech is behind due to not listening. He has a hard time napping and sleeping a full amount of time. Believe me I am not trying to "label" my son and am very anti-med at his age but if he needs treatment to learn I will take him in. Anyone have a child diagnosed with it and how do they act?
I’m a black girl, I go to a New england prep school. I don’t fit in with most kids (they’re mostly preppy, rich, and legacies) The school is dominated by males, the girls seem sort of suboordinate. Alot of them won’t look you in the eye walking down the hall or they won’t respond if you say hello. The worst thing is looking for where I should sit in the cafeteria. I don’t have many options. (ive got 2or3 good friends). They have their own cliques among themselves, people do this thing thats supposed to be normal called
"hooking up", there are queen bee’s, social climbers and ALOT of gossip. And the boys are athletic and swaggering and the girls look really sophisticated for our age. I understand thats just high school but it’s different here. And I feel like I can NEVER talk about race or class, because I think if I do I will be upsetting the balance and people will blame me for being "anti’social" or "calling the race card". What can I do to feel happier and less awkward here?
My goldfish has a white raised blisten on his head about the size of a grain of rice. I have been told it may be a fungal infection or a cyst/tumour. Are cysts/tumours dangerous? And what brands of anti fungal treatment are effective! and how do go about treating my fish! i need help, ive had my fish for ages!!!
He only has the one spot which is quite large about a few millemeters across, its right on top of his head, I dont think it is ich because it is too big and theres only one spot, if it is an injury will it just clear itself up?

I am 55yrs old and very recently I’ve noticed that my face has much more noticeable frown lines, smile lines, and little wrinkles all over. I have a sun spot under my eye that makes me look like I have a black eye. I currently use ROC, Revlon, Oil of Olay, and similar anti-wrinkle and age spot lightener products. I have also gone to a spa for a chemical peel and microdermavasion treatment. These didn’t seem to help much. I’m on a Very Limited budget and can’t afford botox injections or similar treatments.
Please help me! Thanks so much.
