Is it unhealthy to drink milk and other milk products like yoghurt in a high age?
Some retirement homes refuse to give milk and other milk products to elderly.
Thank you in advance!
I think about somewhere between 70-90 like my grandma ![]()
Elderly Care Archives
I am writing a term paper on a social issue facing the aging. Here is the description of my assignment:
Your task is to write an overview of the policy area/problem. The issue should be a social
welfare problem within the topic area of aging.
I am having a hard time narrowing it down so I would like input for you guys. What do you think is the most important social issue facing the elderly.
Sometimes I wonder who has a harder time coping with their emotions: teens or elders. It probably depends way more in the individual but it seems age doesn’t necessarily mean maturity if elders are robbing stores at gunpoint. I guess some elderly people feel pushed aside due to their deteriorating physiology and are lonely while emotional tempered teens are coming to grips with relationships, grades, and other issues and also feel equally misunderstood by those around them. So both opt for suicide at times to end the recurring frustration. The elders get release from feeling abused by the young and the young get relief from feeling harrassed by the old.
I’m doing a research topic for school and I’m just curious on peoples opinion on the topic. With age many peoples mental status starts to go. Could this mental decay be slightly caused by all of the traumatic events they have had to witness? Do you think that the historical events such as The Cold War, Vietnam War, The Great Depression, Cuban Missile Crisis, the assignations of a great president and the fall of the Twin Towers, our current elderly population witnessed altered their mental state?
it is basically about the problems of medical care, the housing and programs, and release of the elderly
I have a 15 year old cat, and she isn’t in the best of health, but she gets around just fine. About 2 days ago, I’ve noticed that when she jumps up or down from somewhere, she can’t seem to keep her balance as well. She wobbles a bit from side to side, and sometimes falls over. This is only when she jumps somewhere.
Could this be something serious, or is it just part of aging?
She’s not fat. She’s only 5lbs.
What do you think of people over 30 or people in their 40’s? What do you think about the elderly?
.
First — it was Children who were the Primaries.
Now — it’s everyone up to Age 49(??)
My Grandmother is 86, yet she cannot get the Vaccine…
In past years — The Elderly were Primaries, because they would have a tougher time fighting the Virus, right ?
MQ2 — Is their a Link that explains this ?
thank you.

As the baby boomer generation gets older, they will need special needs and services. Healthcare is always important and is usually at the top of the list. What are some of the other needs these families within families might need. Just asking because I lost my parents at age 23 so I am trying to learn how to relate to my friends who have or are caring for aging or elderly parents.
I am in Hagerstown. My BF is taking care of his elderly disabled mom. She is in a wheelchair. I tried to call the Dept of Aging (just got a recording) and the MIHI group (no one answered). I am looking for programs they can turn to for help. She has no insurance, and they cannot afford assisted living or a nursing home.
Currently, I am 18 and I am trying to figure out how I should help the elderly.
I know someone who is down the street of age 36 who often has trouble carrying her bags. I am trying to figure out what to do about the old fart?
Any tips?
Please provide the main reason that you think elderly people commit suicide. Also, for my study, please provide your age and whether you are male or female.
A. Women and men age differently
B. We associate certain behaviors with the elderly
C. The elderly are competing for a limited resource
D. The elderly are leaving society so that the younger generation can take over
They can be deadly just because of the aging process. The next victim of the elderly could be you or your kid.

A breathalyzer determines if a drunk’s ability to drive is impaired. It would seem a reactionary test would determine if the easterly’s ability to drive is impaired.
.
For age 65 and older
-mail renewal of license not allowed
-required vision test
-required reaction time test
-3 year renewal cycle
For age 80 and older
-mail renewal of license not allowed
-required vision test
-required reaction time test
-required driving test
-required doctor’s note
-2 year renewal cycle
Please share your opinions about these restrictions and any others you would like to suggest.
If you have any elderly driving stories please share those as well.
Thank you!
While watching the Macy’s parade this Thanksgiving, I caught an incredible performance by an elderly cheerleading team whose members were all over 60 or so. I don’t remember the name of the team or who they represented (a basketball team maybe?)…I just remember that each jersey number was the person’s age, and that they did a great job at their synchronized dance moves. Can anyone help me out with this?
In Japan the life expectancy for males currently 78 for females 85 but the overall is 82 meaning equally, but I heard back in 2000 the retirement age would be moved to 77 would that mean that is considered the age to become old age and what age do you become middle aged?
The life expectancy for females currently is is 85 for males 78 but the overall total is 82,What age in Japan are you considered middle aged and What is the retirement age cause I heard it was going to be moved up to 77 years ago so would that mean the age to be elderly is 77
Do you think they shouldn’t be allowed to drive after a certain age? I ask this because I was just driving behind an elderly man. He could barely see over the wheel, was going 10 mph in a 35, and almost caused about 2 accidents. What do you think? Should there be a cut off limit for drivers? Should we implement driving tests every year after a certain age?
I’m curious what everyone thinks about this.
P.S. I’m not saying all older drivers are bad.
I need to make an avatar for a school project but I need a middle aged and an elderly and cannot find one anywhere!!
Im a 43 year old single mother that has been working with kids all my life. I want to start being a caregiver/companion for the elderly but I havent any expereince with that age group? I see ads in the paper, but they want experienced people. Im thinking of working in a nursing home to start off but I dont know what kind of position to start off with? any advice?
How old is elderly? I am shocked that someone in their 60’s is called elderly.
I tried having the toddler blow out the candles but it doesnt allow her too. One of my parents is closing to aging in to an elderly and I didnt want her too but I want my toddler to age.
