How do I deal with the elderly?
Currently, I am 18 and I am trying to figure out how I should help the elderly.
I know someone who is down the street of age 36 who often has trouble carrying her bags. I am trying to figure out what to do about the old fart?

Umm first of all 36 is not elderly, at all. Just put yourself in their shoes, remember that they used to be your age, and that they were in your shoes, and your going down the same path as them. You’ll be old one day and will need someone to maybe drive you to places, help you up or down the stairs, etc… Just approach her and introduce yourself and tell her that you’ve seen that she has been struggling with her bags and you were wondering if there is maybe a way that you can help her out. If she says no then just smile and tell her that its okay and that if she ever reconsiders that you are willing. Just treat them with respect, treat others the way you would want to be treated.
Are you insane? Thirty-six is not elderly. Maybe she just has a disability and you could be a gentleman by carrying her bags for her. And you don’t have to be so rude either.

Try the over 70’s ,and they might just accept bring called elderly
but then again, they may be offended by your statement too

Try kindness. It can go a long way. Be helpful. Don’t be such a wiseguy. You will become "elderly" one day yourself. Thirty six is not elderly by the way. Have some respect for those who can’t get around as easily as you can.
You can start by remembering she was once your age …and before you turn around twice you will be her age.
You don’t need to be old to need help. Gosh you are 12 now and look how much we have helped YOU !

First, age 36? If that person is OLD at age 35, they need more help than you can give them. You can best help the elderly by going to the gym every week, for the rest of your life, so when you become elderly too; and that is around 65, or older, you can join a senior citizen center and teach the rest of the old farts how exercise keeps you young, and healthy.
Oh, yes. I think you should volunteer to mow her lawn, clean out her garage, paint her house, take out her garbage, wash her car, and clean out her gutters. 36 year-olds love finding stupid little suckers to do their chores for them. They use the extra time to go to the gym, take fabulous vacations, and spend money on themselves. I’ll bet she’ll tell her friends about you and you can help them too. Now run along and get busy, you little good samaritan.

I am glad you don’t live on my street. You know 36 is not elderly so stop being silly. Maybe you just want attention or you stay by yourself too much. Read, it is good for you or go and help your neighbor nicely. Poppy

Dude, just think, that elderly person is twice your age and you don’t have long to go before you become that same age. 36 isn’t elderly. That person is middle-aged. There might be a good reason why that person has trouble carrying things. Maybe an injury or maybe she had surgery recently. The elderly are not people to made fun of by some young fart.
