Hello,
I’m 21 years old and I think I may have some kind of premature aging disorder.
I’ve had acne since my teens and it’s better now but I still have some pustules, red marks and scars.
I wear a stable high uva protecting sunscreen and my face is always tans, even though I’m never in the sun for very long, I burn through my clothes. I did not have this problem when I was younger.

My skin, has very little volume to it. the skin around my eyes is like tissue paper, very thin with squint lines, and bags, and every little purple vein is visible,
I have nasolabial folds and frown lines, flat cheeks, and some hollowness in some areas. My face looks kind of bony. I also have large pores, and some sagging along the sides of my mouth and under my chin.
My face just doesn’t have a soft youthful look that it should.

I finally got a dermatologist to order some blood test and she checked for:

HIV
Blood pressure
Kidney function
Thyroid
and they all came back normal.

Should I have more tests done and if so what ones?

Does anyone know what could be wrong with my skin?

I was thinking about asking my primary doctor to check my hormones, adrenal, endocrine, and vitamin levels
because I head problems with these can cause the skin to age but I’m not sure what else to check for.

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks :)
Thanks for the replys!

Hi Kelly C,
This is the 1st dermatologist I’ve been to out of 3 that agreed to run some blood tests. I just thought it if I knew what specific test to ask for it mght be easier.
Maybe I should be looking though?

I’m a 30 year old female who has mild acne (blackheads with the occasional breakout) but also need an anti aging product as well. I’ve tried neutrogena and do not necessarily need a low cost regimine, just one that works. I’m looking for cleanser, treatment, moisturizer, and eye cream. Any advice is appreciated!

I am 17 years old and one thing I’ll tell you is that I love the sun. During the summer, I love to lay out, and during the fall and winter, I use indoor tanning beds. Please, don’t give me the whole "UV rays are bad" talk. I know it’s bad, but currently, I am very worried about my face. My skin is acne-prone and I use an oil-free concealer and an Almay bronzer in the shade of Sunkissed (it’s oil-free and the only bronzer that doesn’t clog my pores.) Lately, I’ve been noticing that my under eyes look as if they have wrinkles. Overall, people think I am about 20-21 years old, even though I’m 17. Yeah, sometimes it’s nice to look older, but right now, I don’t find it as a compliment. I don’t want to look 30 when I’m 20. What products should I use to prevent premature aging? I would like something to tighten my skin (it seems a little flabby to me) and to overall change my complexion. When I go tanning indoors, should I maybe put SPF on my face to block off the UV rays? Will my face not get tan then? I would also like to know if I should be using specific makeup that will keep my skin looking younger, longer. Please help me out. Thanks!

i’ve been using an all natural cleanser: viviénne aqua pure cleanser made in israel
and after i was my face i use: viviénne regener8 epidermax anti-aging night cream

once a week i use a thermal mask: http://deadseamarket.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=19

and once every two weeks i use: https://www.onsensecret.com/scripts/prodView.asp?idCategory=2&idProduct=64

once or twice after washing my face i used a PerriconeMD acne treatment and I don’t know if that’s why my face is peeling but it’s peeling and it is gross!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What should I use as my cleanser!?
My mom said to use cetaphil mousturizer for all skin types and my friend gave me this acne treatment called Indoxyl. I started using it yesterday.

Please help!
What should I do?

I love it I use the cleanser, toner (treatment lotion) and serum and it seems to really hydrate, tone and clear up my very acne prone skin a lot. *using it three weeks so far*
The problem I have is I have a round face and I think the serum is making my cheeks …plump up or become firm. I called the company twice and they said its not an anti-aging line. *anti aging lines tend to plump up the skin* I’m 26 so this effect I don’t need because I find this effect just doesn’t suit me well or my face shape.*i’m petite so I notice any changes in my face quickly*
I was wondering has anyone used this line and possibly had that effect and does anyone know what the ingredients are in the serum.

I bought the travel size one and there are no ingredients on the small bottles also I can’t find it online. It’s the hardest thing to find and I’m an avid googler!!
Thank you in advance. :-)

I have read recently that benzoyl peroxide causes free radicals which in turn causes premature aging of the skin. Does anyone know if this is true? The sites where I read this seemed a little sketchy and seemed to be making this claim so that people will buy their anti-acne products. I have suffered from acne since I was 12 (I’m 23) and have been using benzoyl peroxide products for years. I don’t want to have prematurely aged skin! I’m concerned about this.
Also, I use an SPF facial moisturizer daily… will this help counteract the possible premature aging effects?

Im 23 years old. I have acne prone skin. Not heavy. But ill like get 1 or 2 pimples a week. Andof coursee, a couple more when i have my period. Nothing major. But I already went through bad acne when I was between 11-13. And suddenly now in my 20’s I start breaking out again! I’ve been usingBurt’s bees Acne Solutions, and it seems to work OK. But its kinda pricey. $$$
Anyway I looked up Clean and Clear and Neutrogena on line. And they both seem good and affordable. But I noticed Clean and Clear is more for teens, I think. And Neutrogena has more products for women.
I also want to start taking care of aging. I use to sun bathe a LOT. I don’t anymore. But I really want to take care of my skin now. I don’t have any wrinkles yet, but want to start getting on an anti wrinkle treatment. A friend of mine told me now is the time to start, before I get any.
Clean and Clear had a lot of acne and moisturizing products which was great. But Neutrogena had the same thing and also mixed with anti wrinkle treatments. I think I like Neutrogena more.
But I don’t know much about all that. If anyone has a little more experience:
What brand is better? Which products should I use? Is there a better and affordable brand I can use?

My friend recommended silica and cod liver oil supplements to help clear up my complexion, and make my skin more even toned (I always do natural treatments, never chemical filled goop from the drugstore). I have never had acne before (I’m 20), but all of a sudden, it’s come up for no reason, and I’d like for it to quickly go away.

But anyways, while researching on the internet, I found that silica and cod liver oil have other health benefits too, like anti-aging properties and help with concentration. Does anyone have any personal experiences with other benefits from either of the supplement they’d like to share? Also, about how long until I start noticing a difference (I know it won’t happen overnight, but I’ve heard of supplements working within weeks, and others that take months)????

Thanks :-)

the product got AMAZING reviews on MUA but the description says its for anti-aging. I just want it for acne treatment. Should i still buy it?

I have oily skin but I am also trying to fight wrinkles as I’m in my earlly 30s. Luckily I have never tanned so I am winning the fight so far, but I want to use whatever products I can to help. Any suggestions for a good foundation that will fight acne and aging?

My skin is oily all over. I breakout mostly underneath my chin, jawline and temples.

Right now I’m using L’Oreal’s Go 360 Clean Cleanser, St. Ives Apricot Scrub and Clearesil Spot Treatment. My face is starting to get itchy around my lips. What should I do?

I read a lot of magazines and their tips for women in their 20’s is to start anti-aging products now so skin will look better in the future. But afraid of pores clogging up with acne treatments, night creams, eye creams, neck creams and all the other things that are supposed prevent wrinkles in the future. What should my nighttime regimen be so that my skin will look its best?

Make-up. I like the natural look- little foundation, blush, lipstick, mascara and eyeliner. Once again I get these things from magazines. Primer, Foundation, Concealer. Where does sunscreen go in that order? What is the best foundation formula for oily/acne skin? Concealer?

How do I get rid of pitted scars?

Whats’ your favorite brand? I have been using acne treatment products for a while and finally get rid of that problem, now I want to invest in a good skin care products, moisture creams, clarify and anti-age kind of products, etc.
I have tryed Neutrogena before and some of their products are good but others irritate my skin, I’m thinking about getting some of Clinique, but not sure.
what are the best brands available, price not a problem, just want a real good quality products ?

I have oily skin and sometimes get acne, but then when I use any type of acne product or anti-aging product, my skin peels like crazy! What does this say about my skin? Does it mean I won’t age as fast as people whose skin doesn’t peel, since its constantly renewing itself? Also, any good tips for not looking like a freak?

Ok so here are my questions and I’m sorry if it’s long. As I said I’m 26 years old with fair skin I had really really bad acne when I was a teenager until I got proactive (yes it’s a cliché but it really did save my skin) and I’m still using it today because even though I still have minor acne scars that I would love to get rid of, for the most part it keeps my skin under control….a while back I started seeing lines on my forehead and just recently I noticed a broken blood vessel on my cheek. Even though I’m ok with the proactive my skin looks dull and I would really love to find an inexpensive (something I could pick up at target) product that will help my skin look better as well as help with the lines….the problem is now that I’m getting older I have combination skin so I’m dry around my forehead but oily on my nose I’ve tried a few things (the cost of which have been high and their now sitting in my medicine cabinet) but most of the anti aging stuff doesn’t absorb into my skin and when it does I break out…so I ask again can anyone recommend anything so I don’t have to start picking random products off the shelves and wasting more money.

im 20 and recently ive been out a lot in the hot sun and my skin doesnt look the same. i was wondering what works for u. i need something for moisture, lift, acne, and contains high spf. ive been to the pharmacy and some seem great but dont help in other fields. overall none of the treatments target the four.

i don’t have any signs of aging yet but i want to start using something before i get any signs and my skin is really sensitive and i get pimple really bad even though i use an acne treatment cleanser

I used to use Benzamycin for mild acne, but I stopped because it was making my skin really dry. I’m almost 25, and have been using some anti-aging night creams to help prevent wrinkles and keep my skin healthy. The ones I’ve used contain retinol or salicylic & glycolic acid, vitamins, etc. and helped clear my skin. However, lately I have been breaking out and am thinking of going back to the Benzamycin. I only used the Benzamycin at night, and I’m wondering if I could use some sort of anti-aging cream on top of it at night. Has anyone done that? Has anyone used it as a spot-treatment instead of all over the face?

I am less than two weeks away from my 30th birthday (gulp), and have spent more than half my life on Clearasil face wash for mild acne (with occasional stints of ProActiv or MaMa lotion which never seemed to work for me).

Can anyone recommend a line of (or specific products) skin care that combines anti-aging with anti-acne? I’ve perused the drug store shelves and am confused overwhelmed by the selections offered. It seems like they are targeted to women 10-20 years older and apparently I’m too old for acne, because I haven’t found anything yet.

Ok so im 15 and I need something for acne. But I was just wondering if anyone knew of any overnight anti aging creams that also work for acne. Thanks to anyone that can help :)
my skins just gotten kinda bad lately.i have more breakouts than usual.and i want something for anti aging to keep my skin looking young.and something to help with acne.

Im looking for a really good eye cream that will make me look young and prevent wrinkles; The best anti-aging stuff out there. I’m 20 years old (pleeeeeease dont tell me that I dont need it lol, im trying to start out as young as I can! haha) and I want to start keeping my face looking young now, so I dont have to worry that much later, any tips?

But mostly, what’s the best anti-aging face/eye cream for sensitive skin/or acne prone skin

Thanks SO much :-)

I am a 28-year-old asian guy who enjoyed acne-free beautiful skin when I was in my early teens ’til age 26. It all went downhill from there. Acne attacked my skin and now I look ‘ugh’. Fortunately, with help from dermatologists my battles with it has stabilized though I still have acne scars and occassional acne on my oily skin. I’m getting older and I know by age 30 men should start using anti-aging products to combat skin aging.
The problem is dermatologists forbid me from using any moisturizers (even those that are high-quality) and limits me with a facial wash and toner only (completely skipping ’step 3′ of skin care). I admit it has done help, my acne problems have stabilized. But I’m worried about my skin not getting any anti-aging treatments and it’s showing signs already. This is quite a problem for me because all anti-aging products are all in moisturizer form (milk, gel, cream, mask, and emulsions) – all things which I can’t use because my skin reacts to them negatively.

I have acne on my face, back, chest. and it doesnt seem to be getting better only worse, ive tried minocylcine, pro-activ, didnt work. is there any GOOD face stuff u can put on before u makeup or at night?? to keep blemishing away or help them clear up? anyway im 5′9" and i weigh 130 lbs i have cellulite on my buttocks, inner & out thighs, & its very embarrassing..any diets? wraps? etc. and ive noticed that my eyelids are starting to droop..out of no where [maybe not enough slip, or not a good sleeping schedule] i dont want my face to age so quickly im 17. and also anything to keep my face from aging? sorry to ask so much. anything at all for these??? please stuff that works..i dont wanna waste my time.. thanks much!<3
Oops i meant "maybe not enough Sleep" haha

I heard that You can treat acne, and still prevent aging at the same time, but how?what products do ppl use.Im 22,but i would like to prevent premature aging, and fight acne at the same time.I heard that Using Benzoyl peroxide leads to premature aging,so what are some good products that fight acne, and prevent premature aging?
