At the age of 59, I realize why I’ve been so depressed most of my life. I have socialized anxiety disorder, which has left me living in a depression all this time and always stressed. I have a therapist & have worked with a psychiatrist trying to find an anti-depressent that works for me – so far, none (due to my biochemistry).
I’m so tired of seeing the world thru gray glasses. What kinds of other treatments are out there that work? I’ve given up on drugs, & I can’t exercise much because I’ve had foot surgery. Any thoughts?
I’m not contemplating suicide, but I am in rage against my mental outlook – I so want to wake up in the morning feeling good just once; and feel that I am up to a challange, instead of running away from it. I’ve always had to force myself to do everything & the anxiety never goes away. I’m so tired of fighting, always feeling anxious, stress that never leaves, (which has affected my memory). What suggestions do you have? What works? I’m tired of hating myself. What can I do.
Even though I have a good therapist, I don’t feel I’ve made much real progress. I’m writing here – thinking that maybe there are other forms of treatment that he may not be aware of.
She will probably prescribe glasses for you that will correct?

I am new to this and was hesitant using a photo for my avatar but I need advice. I was recently diagnosed with presbyopia and prescribed glasses. The optician assured me that these were the best fit for my facial features but I am very self conscious and am not sure if they they are right for me. I thought a square framed style would be better. Any advice is appreciated.

I presently wear glasses for reading, and also need glasses that are usable for longer distances like arm’s length for a computer screen. Can you tell me if they REALLY work for differing distances?
I never wore glasses until I was in my mid 40s. It makes me so made that my eyes just seem to be getting worse every year. My optometrist told me that there is nothing I can do, but I just don’t want to believe it. I do eye exercises, but what about diet, computer use, etc.
I used to wear contacts all day and for computer use. I’m a graphic designer so i spend 7-8 hours on a computer a day.
I now use glasses, and take them off for computer use. My eyes become red after 10-15 minutes. Do i have any reasonable options?
I’d like to ditch my glasses for contact lenses – that pretty well says it all. I need something that will allow me to see at varying distances – i.e., a book in my lap, a computer screen, and ordinary distance viewing for just walking around and driving. Do such contact lenses exist?
Any and all information greatly appreciated!
