I think its presbyopia!

eye has more than one focal point. Your optometrist says that you have a correctable vision problem called

A. presbyopia.
B. myopia.
C. astigmatism.
D. hyperopia.

I am a dietbetic patient but well under control with medication. Is it advisable for Dietbetic guys to take up Lasik Eye Surgery ? How safe is it ? Me at age 40 now and worried about Presbyopia too. Need some advise from oversea’s friends and fellow countrymen from Singapore.
Much appreciated.

I am new to this and was hesitant using a photo for my avatar but I need advice. I was recently diagnosed with presbyopia and prescribed glasses. The optician assured me that these were the best fit for my facial features but I am very self conscious and am not sure if they they are right for me. I thought a square framed style would be better. Any advice is appreciated.

if you’re longsighted you can see things from far but when you’re close it appears blurry.
if you’re nearsighted you can only see things that are close and you have trouble seeing from far.

the fancy terms for them are: presbyopia for longsighted and myopia for nearsighted
explain why!

My myopia is -7.25 and -7.75 and my presbyopia is 150 both sides. I’ve seen a doctor and he advised against the surgery. He said correcting my eyes to monovision (one eye to see near and one to see far clearly) will cause eye strain and correcting them to perfect vision for shortsightedness (myopia) will leave the presbyopia uncorrected, thus resulting in me having to keep putting on and taking off my reading glasses all the time. I’m prepared to take the 2nd choice and wear multifocal glasses but he’s still against it. He said it’s not worth it since it’ll only at most make my glasses thinner. What do you guys think? Does anyone wiht myopia and presbyopia tried this and does it really cause terrible eye strain? Will it make life more difficult? I’m so upset to know that I can’t get the laser surgery done.

So, I spend a lot of time drawing. When I hit my late teens/early 20’s, I noticed that when I looked up after about three hours of drawing, my vision was fuzzy for the rest of the day (like, I was seeing colored blobs; that bad). It really scared me. Now it’s gotten worse, to the point that a mere half an hour of drawing leaves my vision blurry for the rest of the day, even when using reading glasses. Is this presbyopia? Or something else? The web keeps saying that you shouldn’t even have this until you’re in your 30’s, and the last thing I want to lose is my vision. It’s hard to draw if you can’t see. Anybody with experience and/or knowledge?

I wonder for people who are having myopia, when they reach 40 and above and becomes presbyopia, will they be able to see far clearly instead, i mean most of them.

Well, can a person have nearsightedness and farsightedness in the same eye? I also want to know if people get bifocals to correct problems like this. Or is there another reason for essentially having two different prescriptions for the same eye?

My current assumption is that people get bifocals if they have myopia, but then as they start getting older, they get presbyopia too, so they need the bifocals to correct the problems. Or, they were farsighted and nearsighted in the same eye, so they needed bifocals to correct the problem.

Are there any other reasons for wearing bifocals besides what I just stated above?

I don’t think this problem applies to me–I am just curious.

How can I naturally cure Presbyopia and/or Myopia?

What does it mean if someone’s vision is described as being 20/100 according to the Snellen eye chart?

A. They have presbyopia
B. They have hyperopia
C. They have myopia
D. They have cataracts

are the reading glasses sold at the pharamcy for presbyopia or farsighteness and are they the same as farsightness glasses or are they different?
is presbyopia and farsightness the same and do people with these conditions wear the same kind of glasses (ie, the ones sold at the pharmacy?)

also, does nearsighteness stop ever growing worse?

dont use wikipedia ……i used it and it confused me……………
hey man i dont have presbyopia ……i m just 15 yrs old ….This question was asked by my science teacher …..

Osio Corp has a non-invasive treatment to correct presbyopia using normal contact lenses and special eyedrops. The treatment regiment is to wear the personalized contact lenses and apply the eyedrops daily for one week only.

i can barely see with ma right eye. everything looks white now and i will like to know if ma eye will get better. also i will like to now if presbyopia is cuarble

Is there anything we can do to prevent it?
Yes, I know some nearsightedness may delay it, however at least two of my friends have nearsightedness but also are developing presbyopia in their 40’s. I know a old lady over 80 years old who have perfect eyesight!

I had LASIK years ago – both eyes corrected for myopia. I’m 45 and presbyopia is getting annoying. It’s gotten to the point where I sometimes cannot read things at arms length even. Besides reading glasses or contacts, what are my options for correction of this? I have a feeling I’m heading for (hopefully stylish) eyeglass chains….

what is the difference between hyperopia and presbyopia?

What is the correction for Presbyopia?

My optometrist says that in my 40’s I will develop presbyopia since I have astigmatism and hyperopia. He claims that it’s not because everybody eventually becomes presbyopic, but rather because I have farsightedness. Is that true? And why wouldn’t my regular correction for farsightedness correct the presbyopia? Why would I need reading glasses if I already have the correct lens?
